Meet The Board
The organization now recognized as Sisters In Service was born from a collective aspiration to make a greater impact. Jerilyn Hitch-Fuller, a recent graduate and transfer from Gamma Omicron Undergraduate Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Denver, and now a member of Beta Rho Sigma Denver Alumnae Chapter, envisioned a meaningful initiative but initially struggled to bring it to fruition. After working independently without clear progress, Jerilyn shared her challenges during a chapter meeting, hoping for guidance. Her fellow Sorors responded with enthusiasm and support. Through a series of conversations, focus groups, and planning sessions, the foundation for Sisters In Service began to take shape.
Following years of dedicated research, thorough review, and the completion of state and federal tax requirements, Sisters In Service achieved its 501(c)(3) non-profit status in June 2000. This milestone marked its autonomy, bolstered by the support of the members of Beta Rho Sigma Denver Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated.

The legacy of Sisters In Service is built upon the vision, resilience, and unity of its founders—individuals who transformed aspiration into lasting impact through unwavering dedication and collaboration. Their pioneering spirit laid the foundation for a movement that uplifts communities and inspires change. Today, every person who furthers its cause stands as a testament to the enduring power of service, compassion, and collective action. Together, they honor the founders’ legacy by continuing to light the path of hope and progress for generations to come.

Jerilyn Hitch-Fuller; a recent college graduate in the mists of transferring from Gamma Omicron, Undergraduate Chapter in Denver to Beta Rho Sigma Denver, Alumnae Chapter had a brilliant idea that she just couldn’t get off the ground.
After working on her own, with no true result or actual direction, she decided to voice her concerns in the hope of gaining some needed direction and support. During a Sorority chapter meeting, she expressed her frustration with the many barriers she incurred in trying to establish an independent foundation. Her Sorors (i.e. sisters), rallied together and after several conversations, focus groups and planning meetings, steps were taken to officially organize and formulate the organization now known as Sisters In Service.
After several years of research, data submitting, reviews and state and federal tax submission requests etc. Sisters In Service, was granted their 501(c)3, non-profit determination, June of 2000.
